Man held over bomb scare at KL Sentral
KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested a 37-year-old man yesterday after he caused a commotion which lasted three hours at KL Sentral when he claimed his car contained a bomb.
The man who claimed to work in an information technology firm, parked his Proton Wira Aeroback in front of KL Sentral at 11.15am and coolly walked to several auxiliary policemen there and told them he thought there was a bomb in his car, set to go off at noon.
The policemen immediately detained him and called for a bomb disposal unit, which arrived 30 minutes later.
Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the unit checked the outside of the car but could not find any bomb.
